Community Library Gets A Boost Who We Are The Community Mennonite Church of Lancaster, Pennsylvania chose the Community Library project as a recipient of a $1,000 grant. The money will be used for the construction of the Library. Past students Becca Yoder and EmmaKate Martin were the ones who submitted the grant application and explained the importance of the project to the church committee. And Another Surprise Boost   Alexis Cardassis studied at the Mountain School this past year and came up with a creative way to support the community projects.  When she and her fiance Ben Smyth decided to get married, they asked wedding guests to make a donation in their name - they were "registered" at the Mountain School.  Many people honored their wish, and in turn, the communities around the School wish Alex and Ben a wonderful life together. Library Construction Underway   School Coordinator Juliette posted a series of photos showing the construction of the library, which has gone from a one-story building to now two floors so they can accommodate all the activities planned for the space ...........see the progress Pumpkin Carving Guatemala Style Students and teachers are usually able to find new and creative ways to entertain themselves in lieu of doing homework -  as these students successfully did when they convinced their teacher to show them what to do with local squash. Welcome We are past students of the Mountain School, supporting the dreams and visions of the people living in this part of Guatemala. Our goal is to give back to these families with donations that will keep teens in school and help the communities with their projects.
